Last month we caught up with Dene Sheheane, President of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association about his experience working with PEG Ltd.
PEG Ltd.: How the survey has help the team at the Georgia Tech Alumni Association:
Dene: This is the fourth installment of the all-alumni survey that we have partnered with Peg to produce. The surveys provide an invaluable opportunity for us to not only gather important insights about our alumni audience, inviting alumni to participate is an engagement moment in of itself.
The survey allows us to demonstrate that we want to hear from our constituents, we can showcase the results back to alumni, and we can reference the survey when we roll out new programs that are based on the findings.
Not only that, but the surveys provide us the opportunity to collaborate closely with our campus counterparts. We can ask leadership what they are hoping to learn from alumni as well as presenting the results of the survey.
Close to three years after conducting the survey, we are still continuously sharing the results with new staff and as faculty are looking for more information about alumni.
PEG Ltd.: How did you apply the findings of the Alumni Attitude Study?
Dene: We have been able to apply the findings when we update a program, introduce a new program, and even with business decisions. For example, knowing that a program or communication vehicle is important and valued by alumni ensures that we are devoting the appropriate resources to that area.
Since receiving the results, we have introduced more professional development learning opportunities, we are making a concerted effort to make sure all alumni know they are invited to attend events, and we are able to better predict the topics we know that alumni are interested in.
PEG Ltd.: What was your experience working with our project management team?
Dene: They are fantastic at project managing this large task. They consulted with us about the survey questions, how to uncover the kinds of insights we were hoping to gather, and kept us on time and on track with the work.
